(September 24, 2019, 7:39 am)Candlelite's pizzas remain near the top of the long list of Chicago variations of pizza fantasticness.
We've finally tried their Detroit-style deepish dish model, the Sausage and Peppers we've often enjoyed in its original excellent, crispy cracker thin crust iteration.
Its crust is delicious, with a soft and even fluffy, chewy texture surrounded by a more crispy and semolina enhanced exterior ring. Available as one size, an oblong round cornered rectangle cut into strips. For the sake of shirt and pants safety it's really a knife and fork model.
Their marvelous signature tavern style will always remain our favorite, though as a nice change of pace this one is a winner and a champion. -

(September 22, 2019, 7:25 pm)Great spot for friends to gather, have some pizza, salads and drinks. Our Evanston high school classmates from the 70s and 80s enjoy sharing memories and meeting here. Owners are really nice. Friendly staff.

(July 23, 2019, 12:58 pm)We came here for a small event and reserved for 20 people. Much to everyone’s surprise we had closer to 40 and they were completely accommodating and thankful. I’ve been other places that would make an ordeal out of more business being brought it than was reserved for so this was refreshing. They pizza and wings are good and the draft beer selection was great.
