  This is by far one of the coolest, most well designed speakeasy. From the entrance, to the atmosphere, to the design it all hits the nail on the head. Although they pack a good amount of people inside, they do a fantastic job of segregating the group you sit with to have great conversations. The drinks are so delicious you’d swear many of them don’t have alcohol, so be careful. If you’re looking for a place to go with a small group or your significant other to have great conversations and enjoy their company, this is it.

  Great place, very intimate, and a perfect spot for a date. I loved it. Plus the drinks were phenomenal. Even though the line was long, because i was with someone else, and I think because I looked the part, I was escorted in front of the other people on line. The door guy was awesome for accommodating us and I would totally go back here.
  
  Suggest ion...use spot hero for parking if you're going to be there after 9 pm

  Overall: While a bit too hyped, Violet Hour still serves fantastic drinks in a great ambiance.
  
  The good: The drinks are top notch. You get what you pay for...they pack a punch, are delicious, and also come with side-cars. Doesn't get much better than that. The service was also great, with ours being attentive and quick, even when we didn't quite know what we wanted yet.
  
  The not-so-good: The hype was a bit overplayed - while the inside was fine, I was expecting something far more intimate and cozy. The ceilings are tall, the chairs too tall and uncomfortable, and the music was hit or miss. And, of course, you'll probably have to wait outside. Which, in the winter, isn't very fun.

  Atmosphere: 8/10
  Service: 9/10

  The Violet Hour has been one of my favorites for several years. Sometimes- I haven't enjoyed the menu changes- but I came here recently and enjoyed it very much. It's great to learn about new spirits, etc. and it is a nice intimate space. Great for dates or catching up with friends. The food has been good when I've tried it in the past, but the food menu is designed to be snacks and in wicker park- there are plenty of options. The staff is always knowledgeable and friendly.

  This place is amazing, and I'm not sure what else to say about it. The cocktails are inspired and crafted to perfection! Though there may be a wait (sorry, no reservations here), it's certainly worth it if you want an authentic high-class cocktail experience. If you can, try to sit at the bar, where the extremely knowledgeable and friendly barkeeps will help guide you through the menu, even going as far as tweaking the standard menu items to more closely match your tastes. I can't recommend it enough!
