They are super busy all the time.. customer service is lacking. But Dr. Shapiro saved my moms eyesight! She had both retinas detach and he was able to fix them both! It was a lengthy process, going on 4 years now...but he is a very caring and kind person. I would wait for days if it meant saving her eyesight!
I am normally a very healthy 48 year old woman so it was a big surprise that both my Retinas detached. Dr.Blaire saved my eyesight. In fact, my eyesight will eventually be better than it was before my retinas eyes detached. If I was born before 1975 I would be a blind woman by the time I turned 49. Thank god for modern medicine & a hard working genius, Dr. Blaire. I have had three successful eye surgeries by Dr Blaire in the last 14 months. The nurses in the hospitals who knew him told me over and over again not to worry because I had the best retina specialist in the Chicagoland area. They weren’t kidding. They all referred to him as Superman. I remember when I came to from the second surgery I was groggy but I remember him talking to me by my bedside. I don’t remember what he said but I will never forget it. He must have already changed from surgery because he was in his street clothes. As he was walking away I noticed he had jeans, a backpack and a baseball hat on. He just walked out just like that. I remember the moment & I remember thinking that he really was an unpretentious unassuming Superman. He saves people’s eyesight everyday which in turn saves their lives. No one knew Clark Kent was Superman and that day when he walked out of my hospital room I realized that we don’t even realize all of the amazing super humans that are amounts us. Dr Blaire thank you for being humble, thank you for caring, and thank you for being a Superman in my life. You saved my eyesight, my life. I will never forget you, thank you ????.

Dr. Blair SAVED my vision! The staff is always very courteous and professional. I travel 3 hours (each way) and I don't regret one mile!
We have been coming to Retina Consultants for many years. My son began seeing Dr. Michael Shapiro when he was an infant. Dr. Shapiro saved my son's sight. We are thankful that he takes his job very seriously and does not waste time. People travel from all over to come to this office because Dr. Shapiro has a level of expertise and experience that cannot be found everywhere. Their schedule is definitely booked, but its because the demand for these doctors is so high. I highly recommend their services.
Dr.Glasso is a fantastic doctor. My husband had retina detachments in both. He has saved his eye sight. You might have to wait at times but he's worth the wait! The front desk staff all are very friendly.
