(January 22, 2020, 3:30 am)Worth the wait. Our family is visiting family in Illinois and we had a free night to go out.
We are so glad we picked Francesco's, we waited about 45 minutes which we were expecting. The place is small but the food was amazing.
We all shared Francesco's salad, and the calamari, octopus and shrimp appetizer. Both delicious.
All the dishes were very good and the desserts were amazing.
We'll definitely be back when in town. -

(January 10, 2020, 12:25 am)OH WOW!!!. So you want a great meal in a tradition Italian restaurant environment? This may be the best place I have ever ever eaten. The staff was amazingly friendly - The food was so much better than expected and in this environment we thoroughly enjoyed our selves.
Lets start - The Hostess was very kind and kept us updated with our wait status and when we might get a table. As we sat the crowded, room shrunk to just us and our party. The waitress was very knowledgeable on the menu as well as made recommendations as we navigated the menu (which was written on a large whiteboard on the wall.) The appetizers were wonderful but the absolute best part was the sauce. I would have eaten this all night it actually made me wish I had ordered a basic pasta.
The Entree's were stunning...... The Veal was butter soft and so tasty, The Pasta was delightful with an amazing sausage, and my fish was the best cooked and prepared fish ever! It has three wedge fries that were so good and so magnificently prepared that I almost cried with joy :)
If you are thinking about going you should go and go again and then a third time.... I will return to Chicago and I will travel to Francesco's for a meal! -

(July 9, 2019, 10:54 pm)The food was pretty great. Despite being slightly less crispy than I like, the calamari was perfectly cooked. No tentacles though. The house salad was shared with four people, so it’s pretty big and nicely refreshing.
All the main dishes were good and the white fish was cooked perfectly!
The place is very small and tables are close together. Get there early or you’ll wait at least 90 mins for a table.
The desserts were mixed. The lemon cake was not good at all. The lemon curd had lumps and the cake was dry. Skip that one. The ice cream sundae was good, but the ice cream had bits of ice in it.
The night we were there the air conditioning had been turned off during the day and when it was turned on just before opening, it couldn’t catch up to the hot evening. so it was about 85 degrees in that packed restaurant that night. The wine was warm. Not sure if I’ll go back on a hot summer night, but if I’m in the area for dinner again, I’ll definitely come back.
