“I love that Nita's Gumbo is now available in the south suburbs. This is a real gem and special treat that you do not find executed properly very often north of the Mason Dixon. With Nita's Gumbo you can taste the experience and the understanding of a proper roux. You have the complexity of flavors that can only come from years of preparing it for discriminating palates. Please don't go to Nita's thinking that gumbo = soup! If you're not familiar with gumbo, its heritage, or preparation, ask. I'm sure Nita's daughter Denise will be happy to engage you. My only criticism of Nita's Gumbo, and the reason for 4 ???? instead of 5, is the attention to detail in service. It may be an anomaly, but as delicious as the food was, everything I ordered and paid for was not in the bag. Imagine my disappointment when I brought dinner to my family only to not have enough. I should've checked before I left, lesson learned. I'll still return.”
