Already like the FPD.
Fischer Woods is very dense, pretty swampy and bug-infested, and has never been cut down, farmed, etc. The early settlers were afraid to go more than a short ways into the woods. There is a hiking trail accessible in two places from Forestview, the southernmost street running east-west in the White Pines subdivision, off of Church Road. Much of the woods is too wet to walk through - wetland, stagnant ponds, streams, and huge puddles. If you wander off the trail, it can be hard to find again. There are plenty of animals in the area - deer, foxes, coyotes, raccoons, etc.
There are also some two old cemeteries, a historic Lutheran church and a nineteenth-century schoolhouse along Church Road. This area on the outskirts of modern-day Bensenville is known as "Churchville."
