Beautiful forest preserve nestled along the fox river in Geneva. It has something for everyone. From the awesome Japanese garden to the idylic windmill, it is a joy to come here everytime. I don't know where to start - in the summers the preserve offers so much to do including running/biking trails, boat launches, windmill tours, bridges, ducks, fishing, photo ops, charming young couples, adoring old couples, family picnic spots and much more. In winters the hill next to the windmill turns into a super fun sledding adventure with young kids. If there is one forest preserve you have to visit, this is it!
Such a great place to go with or without kids. There’s so much to see! There is a windmill, a light house, a Chinese garden an old boathouse, a flower arch path, a bridge where we saw and eagle and an old rock garden. Across the street is a hiking path that is unpaved.
One of my favorite places to run. Always a lot of wildlife in the river and it's really a unique location with a cool history. My kids love going here too. The house is worth a visit and tour.
Also usually a lot of people taking pictures outside. Can be annoying but it's a really pretty place so I guess I can't blame them- the quantity is comical in the spring and especially the fall though. At any given time it's like 8+ groups with props and like 14 people in an entorage ????
Love it. So many things to do or see you can't list them all. Picnic or fishing in the summer. Sledding in the winter. The windmill on the east side on the river is worth taking a walk through whenever it is open. And the days inn the summer that they actually have it running whenever they unfurl the sails (if that's what you call them), it's super cool. Or just catch the bike trail and start heading off along the river to wherever you want.
