  Formerly owned by the Des Plaines Valley Council of the Boy Scouts, now open for youth camping. Like many Scout units, the DPVC has been having some financial trouble, and thankfully didn't sell this off to put up yet another gawdawful ugly housing development.
  
  I have lots of nice memories of camping at this place, the Klondike Derby, first-aid training at the lodge (not a private residence, never was one). Thankfully far enough from major roads that it isn't too noisy at night to get some sleep.
  
  Might not have flush toilets or hot showers, but if you think those are necessary, you really have no business camping.

  Great place to run in winter after a snow. Quite beautiful

  This is park seems very remote, yet is a very convenient location to visit. There are several mowed paths which allow visitors a pleasant walking experience as if they were deep in the isolate woods. Great place for walks, birding or just getting out in nature. Thank you Kane County.
