  Beautiful Openlands Lakeshore Preserve! Where else can you find poetry, art, and murals while hiking along a ravine that leads to Lake Michigan?!
  
  Do want to mention that the preserve is a work in progress (IMO). Mother Nature has taken her toll, and the Openlands are doing a fantastic job restoring this beautiful place. I would say that it's not done...yet. What is "done" is beautiful so I focus on those aspects. It's worth the extra effort to find the preserve and enjoy it's natural beauty.

  Amazing nature preserve and lakefront (but the lake is not wheelchair accessible as far as I could tell). Beautiful wildflowers line the scenic paved paths on the top of the bluff. I have never seen views like that in suburbs or city.
  
  I brought my dogs and they loved the wild beaches too. They’re not sandy like the city and other suburban beaches, but rocky- the way the coast naturally is.
  
  The only problem I could see is the size of the parking lot. I was there late Monday afternoon and it was packed. By the time I left many cars had parked illegally.
  
  I will definitely return soon.

  Stay away from the beach path on hot days - its swarming with biting flies. The bluff path is always pleasant though, and the breeze off the lake helps keep you cool.
  Also, watch the edge! My friend slid down the side of the bluff when the dirt crumbled underneath him and almost went for an unexpected swim.

  A nice series of walks and rocky beaches awaits you here. The ravine walk and accompanying art is really well done.
