(November 27, 2018, 3:13 pm)4 interconnected trails with loops from a half mile to 2.5 miles. Crushed stone base can get sloppy when wet. 90% shaded. Mostly flat. Washroom (outhouse style) and a playground for the kids. Pump for water. Pets welcome.

(November 24, 2018, 5:07 pm)This is a nice, kind of an off the road forest preserve that has trails to walk or jog and to fish as well. All trails are very well marked, signs are available for planning your hiking or fishing.
Plenty of parking is available, even for busses too. I believe a Rangers station is there (not sure on their availability) plus pit toilets with some hand sanitizer.
Definitely a nice place to get with nature and I will return when in the area, along with it's neighboring Half Day Forest Preserve, of which both are connected via 2 bridges. -

(November 9, 2018, 3:27 pm)Came down to the nature preserve because I wanted to take a hike. I was very impressed how the clean and well maintained the trails were. Even though it has rained a lot lately, there wasnt that much standing water. The trails were labeled really nicely and the bathrooms were tidy. Even though it was fall, it was still quiet and a little piece of serenity from the real world.

(November 6, 2018, 8:40 am)In a spur of the moment, we stopped by to take a walk after Saturday brunch. The shortest path around the water was a pleasant walk. The trees were very pretty due to their fall colours and the sun came out every now and then. However, it was very noisy because of all the people having photoshoots that day.

(October 14, 2018, 12:54 pm)We have been going to the first preserve for the last 12 years. This place is one of my favorites. It is close to the suburb I live in. We go there with family. Escape from the busy life. There are few small rivers and ponds. Good maps different lengths from just few hundred feet to almost mile and half the large one. There are horse, bike, and human trails. U can also book one of many shelters for your gatherings.
