One of the best places to go if you are having pain. I had terrible back pain due to an l5/s1 herniation and sciatic pain. I couldn’t stand up straight and wasn’t sleeping more than a couple hours at a time. After several months of treatment I was able to get off all pain meds. I am now standing straighter, moving and sleeping better than I have in a long time. She doesn’t just treat you she also teaches you how to treat yourself. Dr. Joan has been a lifesaver for me. I highly recommend her therapy to anyone especially if you are considering surgery.
Dr. Joan is a gifted healer whose treatment methods incorporate but transcend myofascial release therapy. She has literally restored much of my body's functionality and has done the same for my son and and a number of my friends. Her demeanor alone is calming, as is the treatment room, with its soft lights and soothing music. Dr. Joan extends the treatment process by assigning "homework," stretches and exercises to be done at home to support the healing process.
The review format limited the number of stars I was able to give Dr. Joan. For the impact she has had on my health and life she deserves all the stars in the sky.
I've had the good fortune of working with Dr. Joan and Jane for (5) years on the recommendation of my holistic physician, Dr. Elizabeth Baker. During this time I have received acupuncture, myofascial release, and specific medical advice related to fascia, joints, tendons, muscles, and spine. Joan and Jane have also given me a range of micro-targeted exercises which I have faithfully performed for years. I see these exercises as the way to maintain my body with its unique needs over the course of my lifetime. Their treatment and exercises have gradually released and made mobile the injured or affected areas of my body. The gradual diffusion of body tightness and strength building also enables me to sleep better than I have in 25 years.
Most dramatically, Joan and Jane have specifically healed a severe right rotator cuff injury eliminating the need for surgery, a left Achilles tendon tear, and 2 quite severe back traumas one of which kept me immobile on the floor of my home for 30 hours. After 5 years of 2x monthly care from them - much of it preventive - I have the body of a man 20 years younger than I actually am. But you have to work at it with their guidance. It's a combination of healing grace AND work.
I saw Dr. Joan for pain in my left wrist. The cause of the pain was a cortisone shot I got to help with pain in my wrist in a different area.
I was in pain for almost 8 months and was contemplating taking another shot when I heard about Dr. Joan. Within 4 weeks my pain fully disappeared. She is very knowledgable, kind and professional. I highly recommend their services to anyone who is in pain.
