  Officer Lisa is one of the best! She is so thorough and friendly whenever citizens ask her questions. She is particularly concerned for the safety of all especially when monitoring traffic in the Cotton Creek School parking lot. What a benefit to the community!

  The police in Island Lake offer dignity, respect, and compassion when speaking to people involved in various circumstances. I stand behind them 100%. Thank you for the service Island Lake officers. We are proud of you!

  Sheriff Sciarrone, I just want to compliment one of your finest in uniform. I can not remember her first name (possibly Jenny or Kelly), although she was polite enough to introduce herself. She is a young blonde woman who was driving an unmarked police car near Dowell and River Roads on Saturday morning, 11/28/2015, at approximately 9:00am. She pulled me over for speeding, for which she had every right. I won't detail the outcome of that encounter, but I just want to tell you that she is indeed one of Island Lake's finest. She was kind, respectful, professional, and courteous. None of which she had to be. She has a (not so pleasant) job to do and isn't required to be particularly nice to anyone, yet she never once made me feel like a bad person or a criminal. She explained the speed zone variations on Dowell Road with patience, in a kind and professional tone, without making me feel like a moron or "just one more idiot she has to deal with". I am not frequently pulled over, but of the times I have been, I have never been treated with so much respect and equality as I was this past Saturday. Not once did she speak down to me or berate me - all choices she could have made as she is the authority figure in this situation.
  I just wanted to let you know what a fine Police Officer you have in her, how fortunate Island Lake is to have her on their force, and I pray she never gets hardened or jaded by what I believe to be one of the most difficult jobs any person can do - regardless of race or gender. My best to you and your fine people in uniform.
