We were actually looking for another store which seemed to be non-existent - not even the address! I can never pass up a Botanica - I am fascinated by the goods. The sign said open, but the door was locked. As I started walking away, the owner opened the door. I don't think he spoke much English and my Spanish is limited to a few words. He was watching TV and pretty much ignored us, which was fine with me because I like to look around. The prices were much higher than the two Botanicas I have frequented in Chicago - in Pilsen and on Division Street. It was still fun to browse the large selection of intriguing items and there were two incredible shrines.
