  Jon Kapity was highly recommended to me through Northern Strings Piano Services, Dennis Hankinson, a piano instructor, tuner and repair. As of March, 2016, I was completely 'new' to music. I began with piano then initiated acoustic guitar in November. Jon is very thorough, very knowledgeable, has good organization with a plan, is dedicated, flexible and patient, in addition to hard working. Any student success depends upon student participation. Jon is very motivational and supportive. His goal is to help his students achieve success.

  I began taking my grandson, Ben, to lessons in January of this year. He is only eight and I expected a generic, half hour of frustration and eventual lack of interest since lessons were a Christmas wish. Instead Jon Kapity's patience and sincere interest has motivated and inspired Ben to study almost daily. He is excited and ready for lessons every week, he is treated as though his study time in important to the instructor. There is genuine empathy for his efforts to improve and achievable goals that keep Ben on track and truly gaining a new skill. Jon has created an environment of support and encouragement, none of which is 'playing down' to a small child. The expectations to excel are clear and its working! I highly recommend this business and when Ben is a performing on stage one day I'll give Kapity all of the credit!

  Jon is an amazing instructor! My child has learned so much! Jon's lesson plans are very individualized to each student's level of learning and their personality. He is encouraging and patient, and he really knows his stuff. I highly recommend him to anyone.
