  Joe was my instructor for my instrument rating and Joe just finished up my commercial training. The ultimate top grade is earned when a flight instructor sees repeat customers. There are many different types of CFIs. Brand new CFIs with a mission of building hours for a future job elsewhere, part timers, and full time professional CFIs. I went through time builders and part timers with my private training, and it was quite frustrating. Joe falls into the latter category. Not only is Joe a full time professional CFII, he is hands down the best. Joe is extremely knowledgeable, safe, and skilled. With his guidance, you will schedule a checkride with confidence and proficiency. When I started to look for a CFII to give me instrument training, I asked a customer of mine who happened to be an FAA inspector. Without hesitation, my customer mentioned Joe Standley is who you are looking for. Joe has a very nice Piper Warrior equipped with great avionics - and that comes from a Cessna pilot! Bottom line - if you're interested in earning your private pilot certificate, instrument rating, or commercial certificate, you will come away a proficient pilot with Joe's instruction.

  What a great way to learn how to fly!!! I received my instrument rating from Joe. He has thousands of hours of experience. His passion is teaching— not building hours to go fly at the majors. Tons of experience and willing to take students up in actual. If you have been thinking about getting your license or an add-on rating... this is the place to go!

  If you're looking for a great flight instructor, look no further, Joe is the guy for you!! I've been flying on and off for about 10 years. I never finished my private due to things in life popping up at the worst moments. I've flown with my fair share of flight instructors over the years. Some of them were just looking to build time before going to the airlines and could care less about my progress. I spent way more $$$ than I had to because of this and was highly discouraged!!! I flew at another flight school nearby and my instructor was a great guy, but just couldn't meet MY schedule and expected me to work around his schedule to finish my training. Then I caught word that there was another flight school opening up on the field. I contacted Joe and let him know about my situation and experience, he immediately contacted me and wanted to meet up. I was immediately impressed with how on top of things he was and wanted to work around MY schedule. I began flying with Joe that weekend and have been ever since. If there's something that I don't understand he works with me until I understand it. He makes flying fun, but expects you to work hard at it until you perfect it. Some of the previous schools that I trained at didn't have any sort of structure, which was a big nuisance to me. Joe's training program is structured and makes sense to make you the best pilot that you can be. His Piper Warrior flies like a dream! I didn't like low wing airplanes before coming over to Joe, but his plane has converted me. If you already love flying or are interested in what it takes to be a pilot, give Joe a call. He wasn't named one of AOPA's top flight instructors for 2016 for nothing! Trust me when I tell you that you won't regret it!
