Nice place to walk, ride a bicycle or fish from the shore or your small watercraft.
The care they took setting up this lake as a fishery is fantastic. Plenty of structure and depth changes along with bottom composition diversity makes for a super interesting body to fish. Spent about 2 hours setting up Lowrance Carbons on a boat and using side imaging and down imaging to identify a very large variety of objects under the surface. Also tons of fish activity and bait fish zipping around.
Great lake to learn how to kayak, which I brought 1st timer here to learn. Launch is paved cement, with not bad of a slope. I wish there was more grass around the launch to rest your kayak down while you are prepping it. Water was surprisingly clear. Some waterfowl to look at. Plenty of parking, for all vehicles. Even long trailer spots. It was a good day on the water. There is no ADA compliant EZ Dock at this launch.
I like this park with a relatively large lake. The lake used to be a quarry and is sufficiently large to not be boring in a kayak, and the island on the center make for a good destination. I also enjoy riding my bike around the lake on a well build two lane path that leads all the way to Koch Knolle Park on one end and route 53 on the other. They recently build a new trail that I yet have to explore. The area also features a dog park and opportunities to observe water fowl.
Great place to get in a good long walk. Large loop around lake (former quarry) with interesting birds & natural plantings. Picnic shelters, fishing, bring your kayaks/canoes, bike path. Plenty of parking. Also parking for boat trailers.
