This review is years in the making. This is my favorite casual 'feel like family' Italian restaurant. They are always timely with table service. Cant be beat for a family dinner or a fun date night. The atmosphere is far from quiet but is definitely not obnoxious. We catered today for a graduation party and the order was right on time and servings were more than enough. Salad, 2 trays of meat and 4 trays of pasta was way too much food for 45- all guests were happy. Thanks for a great atmosphere and great food!
The service here was fantastic, waiter was extremely accommodating and food came out quick, yet somehow was piping hot and delicious.
I had the carbonara. The noodles were really fresh and the bacon and peas were delightful. I tried the eggplant parmigiana and the eggplant tasted identical to a good ground beef. Fantastically prepped and very filling.
For dessert I had the gelato, which was not my favorite. It tastes more like ice cream than actual gelato and was so frozen that it crumbled into shards when picked at with a spoon.
However, I also tried the tiramisu, which was delightful. The coffee flavor was strong and crisp and you could see the coffee on the plate after cutting into it, which was a welcome surprise. Really fluffy, but not too sweet, which is how it should be.
Given that this is an Italian restaurant, I shouldn’t be surprised that the tiramisu was great, but I still was nonetheless!
We had a great table near the front that the maître d'hôtel gave respectfully gave us, assuming we arrived on time, which we did. Ambience of the restaurant was perfect and it was spacious enough for good conversation that was easily drowned out.
Oh, Gatto’s, how I tiramisu already.
This place is not short of the amount of customers dining in, and I can totally see why! The place has a charm to it complete with extremely friendly servers and downright delicious food! I will definitely be returning to this place, soon!
We go our of the way to hit Gattos anytime were near Chicago. You can't go wrong with Chicken Tortellini Alfredo. Food is great. Service is quick & drinks are strong. Winning combo
Gatto's is just fantastic Italian food. We had a large party of 11 with a few kids and our server went above and beyond his duties and was absolutely amazing. The food was fantastic and large portions! We will be back and I definitely recommend it!
