I took the car to their shop and they did a great job fixing it. I dropped it off late in the afternoon, and they had it ready by 11am the next morning. I had a bad misfire in the engine.
2007 RAV4 with over 140,000 miles and I’m so grateful it’s in good condition because Socrates is always honest. I’ve had NUMEROUS problems with my car and over the phone on more than one occasion Socrates has given me a FAIR estimate and an explanation of how Toyota builds rav4. My father and brothers all know a lot about vehicles but have jobs that take up most of their time . My car ended up breaking down while I was a half hour away from my home in joliet. My family was on vacation and I had the car towed to a well known "corporate" shop in Naperville. When they called with the diagnosis and quote I was in tears. My car is a 12 year old vehicle and sat for 3 years so I knew once they got into the repairs they would find more and therefore upcharge more. We found Masters, they were close by and had great reviews, one of the highest rated in the entire city of Joliet and decided to take it there after they quoted us over the phone based off of the other mechanics diagnosis which most mechanics will not do. Their quote was much lower and we felt very fair after calling other shops and looked up the cost of the parts needed. When we got the car there they started on it right away, on a Sunday! Socrates called me to let me know they had found a couple more minor problems, one he only charged for the part and the other he charged nothing. He did an oil change and filled all fluids for free. It was a big job and he got it done that Sunday. I was happy and was told the work was very clean and well done. We came back about 2 weeks later with another problem and Socrates got on the car himself right away to make sure it was not a mistake on their behalf and it wasn't. He showed us extensively where the problem was and again quoted us a very fair price so we left the car with him because we trusted him. He did another great job. Since the car was older I asked for a full inspection because I thought maybe we should get a new car if we were just going to have to keep paying for repairs after Socrates showed us how the entire engine frame was rusted and had holes. Socrates told me about his own sister who owned the same vehicle and once it hit 180,000 miles, just like my vehicle, she had the same issues and more. He did the inspection for free. Socrates is extremely honest and I am all for supporting a small business that's as honest and caring as Masters. The mechanics are just as nice and I am now a forever customer and will highly recommend them to anyone looking for an honest, thorough and timely fashioned auto repair shop.
