“In our experience, Dr. Burra and his staff could not have been more professional, informative, and reassuring. My son, who is a college pitcher, has a full UCL tear, and based on his MRI and another orthopedist's opinion, we assumed that surgery was the only option. When we met with Dr. Burra, he examined my son's arm and the images, and his first response was to advise *against* surgery unless my son's specific goal was to return to pitching to continue "chasing the dream" (my words). Dr. Burra also took the time to thoroughly explain how my son could rehab his arm *without* surgery and still be a position player, and how he could pursue his life goals of becoming a coach, staying active athletically, and also being able to play catch with his own kids someday *without* surgery. He also thoroughly explained the surgical procedure, including all the risks and potential outcomes, and gave us referrals for physical therapists with specific expertise and experience in rehabbing UCLs. We still have a decision to make, but our time with Dr. Burra gave us the information we need. If we decide to proceed with the surgery, we have full confidence in Dr. Burra's expertise, skill, and care for his patients.”
