“I suffered a complete rupture of my right triceps on October 12th, and of course waited a week before I schedule an appointment with Dr. Burt. He quickly ordered a scan of the injured arm to make sure that I didn't have any blood clots that could lead to stroke or death, due to the massive amount of blood and swelling that occurred. Luckily, no blood clots, so it was off for an MRI the next day, which Dr. Burts staff arranged for me. I went back the day after having the MRI and Dr. Burt reviewed the extent of the damage to my arm and quickly scheduled me for surgery to reattach the triceps muscle. Side note -- I had an ACL reconstruction 15 years ago, performed by another doctor, which ended up having some post op issues that caused me extremely horrible pain and delayed my recovery time. I mention this because I was so worried that my triceps reconstruction surgery would potentially have the same issues. But, Dr. Burt assured me that the surgery would be fine and that I was in good hands. My surgery was on October 31 2018, and it went as good as it could have. My pain post op pain was bad, but that's to be expected. There was excellent follow up by Dr. Burt and his staff, who arranged for my therapy once the I was able to start rehabbing my triceps. Fast forward to Jan 21 2019, just less than 3 months post op, and I'm feeling great! The triceps feels great and I've regained a lot of my strength and full range of motion in the arm. I was able to begin light weight lifting a few weeks ago, and as of today Jan 22nd, I am lifting 4 days a week, and although I still need more time for a full recovery. I can say that I did not have a single complication and that was due to Dr. Burt's excellent care and the surgery he performed to reconstruct my triceps. His staff is great, and Dr. Burt has excellent beside manners and I would not hesitate to recommend him as your surgeon if you need one to repair similar type injury. Thank you Dr. Burt! “I have been struggling for a few years now with my sinuses. For almost the past two years I have pretty much lost all sense of taste and smell and I have been getting worsening and completely crippling migraines more frequently. I have seen 4 different ENT's from different groups and after numerous different treatment courses and attempts to alleviate my symptoms I never seemed to get any better. After a few months and no progress, I would switch to a new ENT to take a similar treatment process, mostly consisting of different nasal sprays, to no avail. FINALLY I decided to give it one last attempt before just dealing with it and I found Dr. Sandra Banas. I am so thankful that I have! I was immediately comfortable with her. She took the time to listen to everything that I had going on and talked me through different ways to approach my sinus issues. We tried a few things but finally reached the decision for surgery. I had SEPTOPLASTY WITH BILATERAL SUBMUCOSAL TURBINATE RESECTION, BILATERAL MAXILLARY ANTROSTOMY, BILATERAL PARTIAL ETHMOIDECTOMY, BILATERAL FRONTAL BALLOON SINUPLASTY (yes, I copied and pasted that!). Dr. Banas was very informative about what to expect during surgery and recovery. Its been a month now since I've had the procedure and I cannot say enough wonderful things. My after surgery care has been incredible. Dr. Banas leaves no stone un turned and the surgery was one of the best things I have ever done. No more pressure in my head, no more migraines, and I smell and TASTE food again! I can breathe better and my husband is grateful that I no longer snore at night.
