“My mom stayed in memory springs for a short few months. In the beginning when I first toured the facility the overall compassion and care from the staff could be seen and felt to the patients and the staff. This comes I feel from the leadership of the DON Brenda.The ratings from CMS and IDPH have been good and continue to improve the overall rating of the facility making it one of the better nursing and rehab centers in the area. The hospital and other team members who work with the patients listen to the family especially when the family advocates for their loved one. The only improvement in my opinion the facility needs to work on are special diets for their patients and training and educating the staff about special diets so the patients needs are met more accurately and they can maintain a healthy life style.. I did not find the dietary manager or dietician very open to changes ,educating and training the staff which is a very simple to do because everyone is trainable given the right directives. I still rated the facility a 5 star despite the dietary department faults because of the direct care staff, the DON and hospital administrator and the receptionist ( who seems to always be there) because of the care and compassion they display to the patients and their families.”
