The staff are very knowledgeable and nice. I have a great time every time I in. I highly recommend taking a tour. The whiskey is by far the best craft whiskey in the state. Look for the road sign so you don't miss it. Just behind the bbq place.Unlike most of Nashville they are very biker friendly.
If you have any interest in craft spirits, and are going to take a distillery tour, you need to make it at Bear Wallow Distillery. My wife and I have been here a few times with different groups of people for tours, and we've still learned something every time and enjoyed every one of them. Bear Wallow is family-owned, and they're amazing and friendly people to talk with.
Beyond just the tours, they have an expanding portfolio of whiskeys and flavored moonshines, and there's something for everyone, from the neat bourbon drinker to cocktail drinkers, and everything in between. We've turned several friends and family into Bear Wallow fans, and I have a feeling that list will only keep growing. Stop in for a drink and a tour sometime, and you won't be disappointed!
A very fine little distillery. The husband of the owner hosted us. He was/is very knowledgeable & personalable. The bourbon & rye samples were delicious.
It is a very surprising little roadside attraction with many fun little items to see/buy. The prices are very fair/reasonable for a wonderful product. Yes, we bought some Bourbons & Ryes!!! ????????????
We stop here annually on the way to our cabins. I love a good whiskey sour! They have delicious drinks. I'm not brave enough to do whiskey straight before lunch but others in my party loved their stronger whisky options.

In a more evocative age, the woods of Brown County were thick with law-skirting moonshiners—"stills in the hills," says Susan Spagnuolo. When the Columbus native decided to get back into the workforce after spending 20 years raising three boys, Spagnuolo figured it was time to open a legit one.
