    This past summer I had an issue with a consignment shop near Yorktown closing their business without notifying their consigners, so I was unable to retrieve the items she was selling for me. I called Yorktown Police department; I don't remember the name of the officer I spoke with, but he told me he would look into the situation and call me back. He made some inquiries and was prompt in returning my call. The police department was not able to help me directly, but the officer was sympathetic. He advised me on possible action to take if I wanted to pursue it on my own. I appreciate that the officer was respectful, sympathetic, and returned my call so promptly, even though there was nothing the police department could do in this particular situation.
