I had so much trouble getting my newborn to latch in the first month that I had begun to dread every feed. That’s when we found Emily. After one appointment, we had tremendous improvement!! She helped us with positioning and referred us to a local pediatric dentist to address a posterior tongue tie. She was so positive and encouraging of our breastfeeding goals. She is also very knowledgeable, answering all of my endless new-mom questions about latch, pumping, supply, weight gain etc. I highly recommend Emily to anyone looking for support on their breastfeeding journey.
I give much of the credit for a successful breastfeeding journey to Emily.
When my daughter was born, she had a lot of trouble latching. We were told by several health professionals that she didn't have anything wrong with her, and we were encouraged to triple feed (breastfeed, pump, then bottle feed what was pumped). It was exhausting, emotionally draining, and stressful for me and my baby. Despite being hundreds of miles away, Emily was able to help pinpoint why my baby was having issues latching - she had lip and tongue ties that the health professionals in my area missed. Emily was also able to help me find a pediatric dentist in my area to give an official diagnosis and perform the frenotomy. After that, Emily continued to help me in giving tips for nursing positions, unplugging clogged ducts, weaning my baby off the nipple shield, and so much more. We were able to nurse for 18 months all together, and I truly don't think we would have made it past 8 weeks without Emily's support.
Emily is an extremely professional and intelligent IBCLC. She answers every question I have, calms my nerves when I have concerns, and gently guides me into having more confidence in my breastfeeding journey. I seriously could not have made it this far in breastfeeding without her! She knows what she is talking about and is always ready to help. I am now almost to a year breastfeeding and I can’t begin to thank her enough. ❤️
