I have been a patient of Dr. Klim's for about 18 months. Being a recently retired Disabled Veteran (2017), I have the unique perspective of having experienced six different Pain Mgmt Doctors over the past eight years, and while no clinic is perfect, and no Doctor is infallible, I can honestly say, that he is one of the few that actually takes the patient's input into account when deciding treatment plans; he doesn't force useless procedures just for the sake of making extra money, and he does not make the patient feel like the one who has failed when/if a treatment plan has not worked as hoped.

In this day and age when there are an ever diminishing number of available PM Doctors, there is a reason why he has lasted, where others have failed--compassion, fair, yet scrupulous. And though he had a rough period where I felt he became inundated in picking up patients from other failed clinics in the area, and a couple of items slipped through the cracks; it was his compassion that led to this; not greed or purposeful negligence.

As such, I had a momentary lapse in good judgment and lashed out verbally during a phone conversation with one of the staff. He had every right to drop me from his practice for my actions, and effectually, did. But he also listened to my frustrations; took them into account. And even though my behavior was inexcusable regardless of my reasons, I believe he recognized/understood my perspective, and was willing to accept my apology, and allow me to profusely and sincerely apologize to the staff member and thus ultimately, keep me as a patient.

Don't get me wrong; he is resolute, and hardly one I would 'challenge'--He is very protective of his staff, and his practice, as he must be in recent times. But he also inspires confidence from a patient perspective, and exhibits a great deal of knowledge in his field. And even though he is hardly a pushover--Bottom line?? Dr. Klim is human, and to that effect, I feel that may be his greatest asset as a PM Doctor.

He took the time to listen. My first visit went really good. Hope the second one goes as well. I will update how it goes.
Update on 9/14/2018. I know you have to wait 1 to 2 hours but he has been really helpful. He listens to you when your pain medication isn't really working and trys to help the best he can. The wait is what really sucks. He had to write my script out for 2 months because they are so busy. I understand a lot of people are now going through pain management because no regular doctor will prescribe it. I am pretty sure the government has to know when you make it harder to get help for pain. People will start trying different things to relieve their pain symptoms.

I've been a patient of Dr Klims going on 4 years now. I have had some ups and downs but he always makes sure I am well taken care of. I have a condition. That requires constant pain management. He put in a pain medication pump and it has worked well. I have had to have several operations since coming under his care. He has worked with the different surgeon's I have had to make sure I am comfortable. He has worked hard to help me stay comfortable and safe. Those are his #1 goals. He and some of his staff are absolutely wonderful!!

I've been seeing doctor Klim and his nurse practitioner Barb for over a year and I find their office nothing but helpful courteous and understanding. They go above and beyond just prescribing meds. Office staff is courteous and helpful.
