  OMG! My husband just brought home the most fantastic birthday cake for me. Not only is it beautiful, but it is absolutely delicious! The bakery people outdid themselves. It is a Red Velvet cake with double stuffed cream cheese frosting.

  One of the last locally-owned full-service grocery stores in the area. Al's is Superior in their customer service as well as their quality. They do have a fairly large selection of craft beer. They also have a selection of vegan options in their prepared meals in the freezer section.
  
  They do have fresh meat, with a great butcher department for any of your needs. Their fried Chicken is probably the best in Michigan City. They also have great birthday cake options.
  
  Al's makes homemade donuts daily!
  
  Highly recommended for specialty items and daily shopping

  I love the selection. Prices are reasonable. The employees are kind and helpful. This store encourages me to "get creative" in the kitchen. Nice deli too. Lots of seafood choices!

  A stand out grocery store. It's well stocked and the staff are warm and friendly. They are VERY civic minded, and permit many different local nonprofits to use their location throughout the year. What generosity! In addition, the owners have invested heavily in the upkeep of the parking lot.

  Friendly & helpful staff, always clean, never a very long wait to check out. Prices are a little higher than a big box chain super store, but I think the quality of meat and produce are better. The selection of products is a bit better quality. Plus, the layout is easier to navigate. The store is moderately sized, (half the size of a super center, maybe smaller) so you can get in, grab your items, and be on your way fairly quickly.
