Very cool place! I believe it costs about $10 to get in. It's all in really nice condition. If you're looking to go inside a lighthouse, this is the place to go. It is really tight on the stairs going up to the light and when your in the light, but it's got a nice view!
Went for a boat ride, and stopped at the old lighthouse museum...both were fun.
If you've never been there before you should go you will be amazed it's not just a lighthouse it has the local Indian history you will see artifacts from the area as well as a history of the first lady Lighthouse Keeper there at that Lighthouse back in the 1800s and you will learn about how difficult it was to be a Lighthouse Keeper in this very Lighthouse that is now a museum it's fascinating it's right in the park on the water in Michigan City you can't miss it it's great go there bring your kids just call first to make sure it's open because they have limited hours and I would say parking is available and free and then afterwards go to the Fish Camp restaurant next door and watch the boats go by you will love your experience but don't forget to give a contribution to the museum before you leave they need it to stay open happy holidays Go!????????⛵
What a great little museum! I was warmly welcomed and encouraged to enjoy, and an hour later I made myself leave - I could’ve stayed longer! I want to go in each season, and see the cracks and crevices others don’t... fun place!
Awesome museum with great information and educational materials. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept, and the scenery is amazing. This is a great place to take the family or a school group, or just to visit on your own. The hours are a bit random, though, so be sure to check the website or call before you go.
