That's the best place in Pendleton, IN.
It's my favorite place to spend time in Pendleton, IN.
Completely different from the last time I visited here. Wonderful experience, it has been rearranged a bit and much nicer. So appreciate the services offered and how nice they are!
We love ❤️ our library. Jen is the best. Everyone should come to the library and find what adventures there are.
I cannot say enough great things about this library! The daytime staff is friendly and helpful, the story times and programs are always enjoyable, they have a nursing mother's room, and so much more!
The improvements made over the last year or so were very intentional to meet the needs of the community. The technology available to patrons helps get the most out of having a library card, including text or email reminders for holds and items coming due or overdue, and they recently implemented auto-renewal for items you have checked out. Although I've never used it, they have Hoopla, "a digital media service...that allows you to borrow movies, music, audiobooks, ebooks, comics and TV shows to enjoy on your computer, tablet, or phone – and even your TV!"
The library of things and the STEAM kits allow you to take home more than books and movies. Kids can borrow magnetic tiles, marble runs, and more. Adults can borrow home improvement tools, hobby items, and my personal favorite: family passes to certain museums.
There are only two improvements I could see being made:
1. The door on the ladies' restroom in the main lobby swings in a way that makes it difficult to get a stroller in and out of. There are two other ladies' restrooms in the building so this isn't such a big deal
2. The search engine available to guests and patrons doesn't always yield the best results. When looking for specific books, it will not show results if there is punctuation missing. I have similar issues with keyword searches. The front desk staff always helps when this is an issue for me.
The Pendleton Library has been a community staple for ages. It was great when I was a kid and after all the continued renovations and expansions it's even better now as a parent myself.
Whether to bring kids for early reading or just to hang out and get some writing, drawing, or reading done alone the atmosphere is exactly what I need.
