Fabric Care Center got its start in 1960 as a self-service laundromat on West Washington Street when Peter Prionas, with a business partner, opened the business in a building attached to a neighborhood movie theater. In 1965, Pete and his wife, Kiki bought the adjacent property at Morris and Washington Streets and constructed a modern, freestanding building from which to operate the new, expanded self-service laundromat and professional dry cleaning service. From the time they arrived in Indianapolis from Greece, Pete and Kiki have worked hard to build their business and accomplish what they could not do in their hometown -- create a better life for themselves and their family. They achieved this by providing the highest quality service possible and on time. As the business grew, the building was expanded in the early 1990s to separate out the dry cleaning plant and customer call office from the self-service laundromat, allowing more space for both. Building on its reputation of good service, and with their daughter Cristina on board, the business expanded to serve first the nearby airport area businesses such as airlines, car rental agencies, and hotels; eventually growing to serve downtown and parts of the north side, as well. Today from its single store location, and under the leadership of Tom Prionas, the son of Peter and Kiki, Fabric Care Center serves customers all around the Indianapolis and suburban areas through its home and office pickup & delivery service, known as their Gold Star Premium Home & Business Delivery Service.

The employees at Fabric Care Center do an exemplary job under the tutelage of James Belt. On my route, they pick up on Monday and drop the cleaned clothes off on Thursday. I've never been disappointed. The tailoring service is particularly welcome. They have recuffed pants that the end of the legs that have frayed or were too long. They even repaired the lining to one of my favorite corduroy coats that I had held onto because I liked it so much. Then I though, I'll see if they can fix it. They did a great job and fixed the hole in the pocket. They are, price wise, very competitive, and the convenience can't be beat. My delivery driver James is very friendly and get's everything done that I put notes on. I highly recommend them.

Best washer prices in town very busy place every day of the week. Largest load washer in the city, great for those items too large for a regular or large washer.

I use their laundry facilities which is never really overcrowded. They have a really nice staff. Same owner for both places. I know they have a great dry cleaning service because I have used them before. If you enjoy tanning as well they have some very good tanning package prices. $10 for a week of tanning and $20 for a month of tanning. They might not have all the different fancy beds but their beds are still good beds.
