  Secluded beautiful retreat to nature next to the college mall. Wouldn't even know it was so close. Such an amazing gem in Bloomington.

  Visited A Few Time's Awhile Back.
  Great Historic Wood's.
  Alot Of History Attached To The Land.
  Great For Trail&Nature Walk's.
  Has A Calm&Peaceful Atmosphere.
  Very Quiet & Enjoyable For Anyone Who Appreciate's The Enchanting Beauty Of Mother Nature. I Admire Beautiful Place's Like This With A Historical Past.

  A gem of a city park. Latimer is only 10 acres, but has some truly impressive trees. We enjoyed the short walk through the woods, with signs that detail the history. The one negative is that the entrance to the park is located in a private apartment complex. If you drive there, you must locate visitor parking at the back of the complex, then find the trail entrance behind a garage.

  Secret Woodland Island just past 3rd street mall. Enter Latimer Woods housing and find the sidewalk path entering the woods on E Stratum Way. .4 mile loop is a perfect 15 minute get away or walk with the dog. Don't under estimate a small piece of quiet and enjoyment.

Trails: Latimer Woods has a designated trail called the Latimer Woods Nature Trail. This trail is a moderate-level course at .38 mi of dirt and woodchips. The Trail winds through the woods of the former Latimer Farm. Interpretive signs detail the history of the property. (812)349-3400.

Latimer Preserve : Sycamore Land Trust

The forested Latimer Preserve borders State Road 46 east of Bloomington and preserves part of the scenic drive to Nashville. The preserve was a gift of the Latimer Family in 2001, who also donated the Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department's Latimer Woods preserve near the College Mall.
