Absolutely amazing. Stopped here for dinner to meet some family and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is well kept and the staff was very friendly. Prices were a little high but you get your money's worth. I ordered the brisket chili and I could have made two meals out of it. We also tried the bacon sampler which I would also recommend. Excellent all around.
I had a good (but not great) salad, a good (but not great) steak with good (but not great garlic mashed potatoes) and finished with a good (but not great) chocolate brownie (that was more like a lava cake). The atmosphere is like a diner inside a barn. The service was also good (but not great). I think you see where this is going. I expected really excellent farm-fresh all-American food. I got good all-American like you might find in almost any family restaurant anywhere for prices a little higher than you'd pay elsewhere. That said, it has to be the best restaurant for 30 miles in any direction.
Why 6 pieces of bacon are worth $14: The Farmhouse is a Fantastic place to visit if you're on the long road between Chicago and Dayton as an example. The Bacon Sampler is amazing though really really expensive but we still get it every time, which speaks for itself. That dish comes with way too much mustard but at least then you can order the amazing soft pretzels to finish off the mustard. Great dining room. Also if you're tired there's a new hotel next door, so take a break and get off the road, eat at The Farmhouse and then sleep at the Marriott!
Great food! Great staff! You can taste the quality in every dish. A definite must if your looking for a nice quality experience
Great food, very good service. Family atmosphere. You can sit outside with your dog during warm weather! A great stop off 65. Nice shops, too.
