As a long time team member of Human Movement, I've had the ability to see the Community grow, both physically and emotionally. I've had members tell me that their experiences in HM has helped them mold a new future for themselves. Through this growth, I've seen my own life change. When it needs to be a part of your life, you have to be surrounded by other positive people who want to see you succeed. This is what makes Human Movement.
The community at Human Movement is an incredibly supportive group of people. The coaches are passionate and positive to keep you on track, in form, educated, and smashing PRs.
If you are looking for a team to help you move better and be better, look no further.
I have always been a runner until I needed a knee replacement. I felt very broken. I received the knee but was told I should not run if I want my knee to last. I still felt broken.
I was Introduced to Lucas Woody and Human Movement a year ago. I am now not only running again but also doing so much more!! Things I would not have ever imagined I could do at 56 years old and a knee replacement.
I absolutely love Human Movement, Coach Woody and Coach Nolan. I have went from feeling broken to feeling strong, way better mobility, more flexible and very HAPPY!!! I feel like I have gotten my life back and still going strong!!

I love Human Movement. I tend to dive into things for a time, get really involved in it, then quit (within weeks). I have not felt that urge here and start month four in a couple of days...from day one when I wanted to punch all the peppy people cheering me on (because I was dying) to now when I look forward to being with that same community and need their supportive voices, Coach Woody is inspiring and supportive without being pushy. I truly hope and believe that I, and hopefully soon my husband, have found a group of people, both members and coaches, that will be in loud lives for years to come! The facility is comfortable and the people make it more of a home away from home. What more could you ask for from a gym, of all things?
I started working with Lucas as a personal trainer back in the early, early spring of 2019, because I knew I had a tendency for over-use injuries in my knees when cycling. I was really happy with the results I was seeing - stronger on the bike and at work. After the crash, things were a little dicey at first - I didn't know what I could do, but between Lucas's knowledge of the human body and ability to modify workouts based on what was going on in my spine, I was quick to start trusting my strength again.
The Better Everyday Classes have been a great segue from person training into the off-season. The people in the classes are diverse - just everyday folks wanting something different. It's cool to be with people with that kind of focus (just to do or be something better), and to see them improving day-by-day. What I've really appreciated is that we are all working hard towards our own goals, but we are doing it together in ways that are supportive of one another. It's really motivating to see my friends killing it - and so I think, "Well, I can do that, too." I guess, we empower each other.
Even in the early days of rehabbing from my injury, when I was back on my bike and surprised with that progress, I did not think I would be back to doing even half of what I had done prior to my injury... any of this stuff. But, a year and half, I've competed in multiple ultra-endurance cycling races, back squat at 120 lbs for back squats and 175 lbs for deadlifts - not too bad for a cyclist with noodle arms and some funky bones. I'll give credit where it's due - Lucas & Human Movement Performance and Prehabilitation.
