“I visited here for the first time for lunch. Went with my wife and we absolutely loved the restaurant. It was very low-key and there were not a lot of people in there. Due to this, we were able to have a lot of conversations with the wait staff and felt like it was almost an individual dining experience. The drinks, the food, and the atmosphere was incredible. “Stopped in on my way to Cincinnati for the day. It's a bit off the beaten path, but worth the trip. Fantastic small-town mom and pop style gathering place. The kind of place where the regulars really are regulars, and everybody probably knows everybody. Super friendly people running the place. Got the biscuits and gravy with a couple of eggs. Whoever is making the biscuits knows what they're doing! Soft and fluffy, with no hard spots. Perfect! It's a pretty basic, limited menu, but that's a good sign to me. Means they know what they do well, and they stick to it, without trying to get cute or fancy. The prices were good, too. Outstanding value! I look forward to coming back!”

“We came here Saturday morning and it was packed and learned why. The food was great , portions generous, and the staff friendly. So, don’t let the old restaurant fool you this place is tasty. Got a seat, ordered stuffed French toast which was amazing - hard to finish there was so much there. My wife has the vanilla crepes with bananas on top which was equally amazing and came with lots of food. Our kids had the kids waffle and pancakes which were fantastic. We will be doing our best to come back again.”

On the day I went I overheard the owner talking about not ordering enough food. The just reopened for dine-in and it had been a year that they were serving takeout only. I did notice a few odd dishes like instead of beef and broccoli, they had chicken and broccoli. Again the flavors we're really good, just a little different than what I expected to see. The price did seem just a little high compared to other quality Chinese buffets.”

I had the fried pickles as an appetizer and a "Champion" grinder, both were excellent. I brought half my grinder home for lunch tomorrow. My wife had the fried portobello mushroom appetizer with the garlic chicken wrap, and fries on the side. She was happy and full when we left. It was a pleasant experience and will return. Some might consider the prices a little expensive, but I didn't find them out of the ordinary. I would and will suggest friends to give The Shady Nook a try.”
