  Fun little bistro off the beat and path. Did not have any food, but fun drink products whether you're looking for a synthesizing stimulant or a relaxing mixed drink to satisfy the palate.

  One of my two favorite coffee shops in Lawrence. Decade is one of the priciest coffee shops here but also has the coolest atmosphere. They did an amazing job with the old building they renovated—my only complaint would be as others have said: no outlets. This doesn’t detract from the experience too much since it’s the kind of place perfect for meeting up with people to talk, or studying (non-digitally) when you have a lot of paper to spread around. Not to mention the awesome design choices, like tables/bars with live wood edges. Even the bathrooms are super nice & clean (and non-gendered). It’s actually pretty roomy here, too, even more so when it’s nice out and you can sit outside. And the best part is the coffee! My personal favorites are their pour-overs and flavored lattes (mocha, butterscotch, & honey are all excellent here, and not overly sweet). They have awesome tea and food here too, and most (if not all) of what they serve is made in-house. All of their drinks are served in local artists’ pottery—I particularly like the coffee cups, which I believe are made by Mike Crouch. Oh, and the people there are very nice, too. Ask questions if you need to, and they’re always happy to answer. I could honestly name even more that I love about this place—like how they often host local events, show local art—but it’s better to just visit yourself if you want some of the best coffee in town, an awesome and relaxed atmosphere to hang out in, and a local business that supports local artists!

Decade is an idea, 10 years in the making. Begun as a pure Coffee & Espresso bar, the menu has grown and evolved along with the East Lawrence Neighborhood and Warehouse Arts District. Today Decade is a hidden gem of a cafe, serving coffee, cocktails, and sustenance to the locals in the know.
