  Very nice train depot. I saw an Amtrak train stop there once to pick up some passengers. Inside is very nice.

LAWRENCE- The City of Lawrence, along with Explore Lawrence, Union Pacific Railroad and the North Lawrence Improvement Association invite citizens to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Union Pacific Depot rededication to house the Lawrence Visitors Center, as well as be a community space of the Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department.

There are precious few good references for many of the railroad stations and depots that used to exist. One of the better resources I have come across to this end is the plethora of old post cards still around depicting many of these structures, some better than others.

The exterior of the old Union Pacific Depot is just SO cool. The building's exterior has been beautifully restored and the landscaping is very nice. There is a great area just outside the building on the back side where people can sit and enjoy watching the trains go by.
