Nice free history site that has little known importance. Turn right(north?) When u get done with toll booth. There is no sign telling u to turn right or left. I was coming from the east on highway.

This site is well worth the visit. Very knowledgeable staff. Great information on bleeding Kansas.

I enjoy my time in Lecompton, a historically significant community to the State of Kansas. There is also a great Cafe called Aunt Netters with the best cinnamon rolls in the state.

Enjoyed the Christmas tree displays, will return sometime to see the rest... Much "gold" hidden beneath the skirts and behind trees. Never realized Lecompton had such a vibrant history at one time

My wife and I visited here for the annual Christmas tree displays. We will be returning. 150 Christmas trees with lights and ornaments from a large number of different times. Just an incredible number of displays. The nostalgia was incredibly moving for me.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Entry is by donation so very affordable for young or elderly families wanting some fun without a ton of money. Space is tight and there was a good number of people so be prepared to take some time and be patient. The building was built in the early 20th century and with all the exhibits it can be hard to move around at times with all the people there.
