Best BBQ in the city. My family has been going to Gates for years. This is KC BBQ at it's best.

A couple things to know before you go:
    1. Know what you want before you get in line and prepare to be called on. Shout your order and take a tray if you are dining in.
    2. The ribs here are the best pork ribs in KC hands down.
    3. If you are going for a classic meat sandwich try the combo beef and turkey. It is enough to feed two or take some home.
    4. Make sure to order your fries and onion rings extra crispy it makes them so much better.
    5. If you are dining in don't forget the free coffee for a nice after meal pick up to fight the itis from all that delicious BBQ.
    6. If the extra-hot BBQ sauce is too much to dip your fries in add some ketchup.

    Enjoy the BBQ!

Great food in the spirit ok Kansas City. Seems like organized kaos in the ordering system but we got our order. I think it a bit more expensive for some but i would go there from time to time. The plate special was delicious and the beef sandwich was good. Wish the sandwich had s little more meet on it but I way satisfied with Gates and would recommend it to people with a little extra cash to enjoy.

Out of burnt ends towards the beginning of lunch hour and was told they wouldn't have anymore till dinner. Disappointed, to be sure, but the long end ribs almost made up for it. I'd recommend this place over Arthur Bryant's if you're coming into town and can only do one or the other.

I am just writing this review after an initial visit to this location. I am not looking to change or sway anyone’s personal opinions and my intention is not to offend. I really just wish to let you know of my personal experience and feelings given this establishment. Thanks for reading!
