I went to Dr. Lemons around 8 years ago. It was the best experience i had with my pain management. I have been experiencing severe chronic pain for 17 years after a car wreck. I have practice my new found cognitive way of managing my pain for 17 years. It helps!! I recomend everyone i know to The Lemons Center. One thing i will say because i had to experience myself. If you think the 6 week course is unpractal the u havent hit rock bottom with your pain. I went to 45 doctors and the Mayo Clinic. They said yes you have pain and we dont know why. Dr. Lemons was my last resort.....and it worked. I have reduced my meds by 3/4. Im telling you this program works. Thanks Jim for the ability to have something the rest of my life i can use to MANAGE my pain and not fight it. Best pain management in the city.

Words can not express the respect I have and hold for Dr. Jim Lemons and his fantastic staff. Dr. Lemons's dedication to helping you by listening and teaching you thru your own experiences is surreal. I was making a terrible chronic condition worse by feeding the fuel that took over my life and I had no idea. Unfortunately, chronic pain will never go away, but it will ALSO never take over my life again.
The program he created while working at the Mayo Clinic is practiced all over. This program is Hands down the Best kept secret in town.

The Lemons Center is not a magic pill. It's a more nuanced and comprehensive source of help that examines the science between cause and effect and how our pain is exacerbated by personal behaviors and physical limitations that sometimes go unseen. What we don't know always has the potential to hurt us.

Lemons makes attempts to put the knowledge of our pain management into an understandable framework so that we know more and are in a better position to take responsibility for a healthier life. Such thinking is sorely needed in this world and by those who need relief in understanding what pain is and what makes it worse. The Lemons Center is helpful to those who are trying to find ways to understand and manage the source of their pain. It's not going to get rid of the pain but it will help you in facilitating a healthier life and a healthier way of relating to pain, which can be a very personal process. It doesn't stop or end there.

The methodology and wisdom of Lemons is in mitigating stress response and implementing personal awareness of where the touch points between pain and stress intersect so that we can take back our lives. It is in promoting that awareness of how we move and how we think and how that process can help or hinder recovery that determines whether there is success in pain management. I found my time in the program to be very elucidating. I still hurt a lot but I know myself better and know that there are others like me and that I'm not alone.

As for personnel, everyone was incredibly helpful, patient and there is light and love there. It's a good atmosphere for learning and changing bad habits and learning good ones. After years in pain it's hard to trust that it's going to get better. Jim Lemons is an incredibly wise guy, in just about every way. (sorry Jim I couldn't resist)

A few last words, those expecting to go in and be magically cured of chronic pain are going to be very disappointed. Those that go in with realistic expectations of pain management and how to best help yourself will be greeted by a kindly crew of helpers and health facilitators who will do their best to help you be successful. If you go in with an open mind you will leave with a bit more peace. You will leave with knowledge and techniques that will serve you well for the rest of your life. It will get better.
