I've been going to Tommy Herken for years. He's an honest mechanic that communicates well to his customers. Tommy is a true professional mechanic that the Leavenworth locals know will treat them right.
I’ve known these folks for years now, and highly recommend them. You might find a lower price somewhere else, but you won’t find better quality work or higher integrity.
Honest mechanics that know their stuff. I am an Army Officer and a trained ASE Mechanic. I know how to spot a shop that is overpriced and does poor quality work. This shop is not one of those. I had A/C work done there. They fixed the actual problem, not just "replace everything" to be sure. Now, you can do that if you want and that is probably better way to go with A/C. my car is old, and I didnt want to dump a ton of money into it. Point is, I knew what I wanted and he did what I asked at a fair price. A/C blows nice and cold now.
You know how I can tell it's a good shop? Every plastic piece, screw, and clip was put back in the right spot. It's clear they didn't rush the work.
The mechanics and owner are very polite people to do business with. I felt like they cared about the problems I have with my car. That's rare nowadays. I would definitely recommend this auto shop if you need your fixed.
Herken's Automotive and Tommy Herken have been keeping my cars running smoothly for more than 20 years. They have seen me through routine upkeep as well as those more tricky "it only happens when....". I have always been taken seriously even for strange complaints about my car. Although I might leave Tommy shaking his head after I leave, I have never been dealt with in a condescending manner. Tommy has taken time to explain what work they did, educate me about my car, and has put up patiently even when I asked for brake pads that don't cry when engaged. Every time I go on an out-of-town adventures, I entrust my car to Herken's to make sure I will be as safe and problem free as possible. They have helped keep my 2005 Focus on the road even zipping through the Colorado mountains safely. Herken's has proven themselves to be honest, fair, and honorable. If our cars aren't safe, we are literally putting our lives in danger. So, I put my life in their hands by letting them keep my car running and and as safe as possible.
I would highly recommend Herken's Automotive to anyone who is looking for an honest, knowledgeable mechanic. I would also highly recommend it to women who have dealt with mechanics who view us as less than intelligent about automotive issues.
