I had a rare disease called Cushing’s (now in remission) and began seeing Dr. Mortada after having surgery in Oklahoma City to remove a pituitary tumor that was causing my disease. My previous endocrinologist was very unresponsive, and I did not feel confident that she could manage my care in a safe way. I messaged Dr. Mortada’s office and was able to get an appointment with him within a few days. He was very knowledgeable about the secondary adrenal insufficiency I had post-op and has had a plan from the beginning with tapering me off of hydrocortisone. I use the portal to message him, and he has exceeded my expectations in responding very quickly. He even referred me to a rheumatologist when new symptoms started that were separate from my endocrine issues and seemed to point to autoimmune disease. I have been a patient for 7+ months and have found all of the office staff to be friendly and professional. I am very grateful for Dr. Mortada and his compassionate, knowledgeable care.

I only just started seeing Dr. Mortada this past winter. I was a bit nervous leading up to the first appointment because I haven't had great luck in the past finding doctors who actually listen and take me seriously.
But Dr. Mortada does listen; he explained things, he was attentive, and I didn't feel like I was just another chart to get in and out. And best of all, he didn't treat me like I wasn't smart enough to make decisions about my care and my own body.
I have PCOS and one of the biggest concerns for a lot of women with it is fertility issues, so that often dictates treatment plans...but its not something I'm concerned with and he accepted that. Instead of treating me as though my fertility was more important than anything else (a problem I've faced a lot in the past with other doctors) he expanded my possible treatment options to look at the bigger picture.
He didn't argue and try to pressure me into taking hormonal BC when I knew I don't react well to it, even though it's a widely used treatment. He (presumably) made a note of it and moved on to my other options.
He was willing to put me on a medication that he felt I would benefit from, only making sure that I understood the risks of it if I got pregnant, made sure I would take steps to keep that from happening, and would come to him if I decided I DID want to get pregnant so that he could get me off the medication.
When I had blood work done, he explained the results to me and exactly how they related to my condition and the medications I'm on, and what the next steps would be.
His staff is also wonderful; they're consistently nice and professional, and amazingly accommodating (when I needed to move a follow up appointment to an earlier time of day due to last second pre-surgery conflicts, the woman helping me made it work and I remain beyond grateful for that; it allowed me to get in, touch base with Dr. Mortada before the surgery so that he was aware of it, and get refills approved so I wouldn't be scrambling while recovering).
I'm starting to regain a little bit of faith in doctors and for the first time since I got my PCOS diagnosis almost 15 years ago I actually feel like I can manage it instead of suffering in silence just because my focus was never on the fertility aspect.
