  I fell in love with this place as soon as I moved here in 2003. I moved here to be with my boyfriend, who used to practically live at the lake. His home is maybe 1 1/2 miles from the lake
  Once I became familiar with all the areas around the lake, shelters, picnic areas, etc, we would play tag. One of us would leave the house first in one car and the other would wait 15 minutes later and look for the first person. Since he grew up there he'd always find me. The spring and summer were filled with green grass and flowers and the fall was filled with trees in full color in yellows, oranges, reds, & even some purples. It has wonderful playgrounds for kids and picnic areas and just to much to mention. Fishing & boating, bridal trails to ride your horses. You'd have to call the ranger station to find out what all this state park offers. Gonna love it!

  This review is specifically in regards to the trail systems located within Wyandotte County Lake Park. It's tremendous. There is a nearly ten mile bridle trail that wraps around the outside of the main road completely circling the park. This trail never closes, regardless of the weather. The name "bridle" implies that horses are one of the primary benefactors of this trail but it's used constantly by trail runners, hikers, and many, many animals.
  
  There are also trails running inside the main road loop as well. These are more of the single track variety and are also multi-use, walking, hiking, mountain biking, running but no horses on these. These trails are subject to closing per the conditions and although there might not be anyone to tell you not to use them, please take into mind that the majority of maintenance done on these trails is by volunteers trying to give back.
  
  Lastly, if you are looking to race on these trails, there is a local organization call the Trail Nerds that puts on a variety of races out here on nearly a monthly basis. Great park, easy to get to, miles and miles of trails to wander.

  Beautiful reservoir, my favorite place to hike on clear windy day. The wind near the spillway is amazing due to the way its set up and its beautiful on a clear day. Special shout out to the deputies patrolling this area for keeping this area safe and making sure everyone toes the line

  What an incredible part. great pavilions, you can tell they were built quite a while ago. All the stonework and woodwork is just incredible and all the buildings and shelters around the park. All kinds of areas to explore. Can't wait to try out the trails!

  This is my absolute favorite place for R&R! This is my home away from home... my little slice of heaven on earth! I absolutely love coming to Wyandotte Lake to relax, watch for birds, snap pics, commune with God and nature, and spend time with family.
