The people here are kind and welcoming, but not in an overwhelming way (I have anxiety and I feel comfortable here). They teach straight from the Bible, and explain things really clearly. The music is also always really good.
Grand opening was amazing, my kids and myself had amazing time, can't wait till next Sunday ❤️❤️
My husband and I have attended this church since it started and it’s like our second family! We love doing life with these people and strive to show the love of Jesus to our surrounding areas!
We’ve been a part of New City since it’s first year which was in 2012. The Merriam campus was started in 2018, so it’s still a young church, but has a great foundation through her connection to the more established New City family. We left for a few years to help plant another church but when we came back we realized that New City is our family and home. I’ve been in church my whole life and my husband and I have served in ministry together at several churches before New City. We have never experienced a discipling process as Biblical and effective in changing lives as the one at New City. New City uses the orange curriculum in the kids ministry. There are several young families at the Merriam campus. Our family has 4 kids and we love how the church loves on them and how connected my kids are to their church family. We homeschool and so do several other families both at Merriam and across the other campuses, so if you are looking to connect with other homeschoolers, you can do it here. For those that don’t homeschool- there are plenty of families that attend public or private schools as well and I’m glad my children have a chance to connect with children from those backgrounds too.
We tried so many other churches before landing at New City. This campus is one of their newer branches, so it's still smaller, but it has fostered such an amazing community. There are a lot of moms with young children and expectant mothers who get together often and have various events (MOPS, playdates, meetups, Bible studies, retreats, dinners, etc.) Pastor Ray's message is always on point and I enjoy how he gives practical solutions to incorporate God into our lives. I appreciate all of the community outreach and how much of a focus is placed on people outside of the church. There's also a ministry for families in the Foster Care/Adoption world with plenty of support. You will very quickly find a church family if you attend this church! Everyone is so welcoming.
