Beautiful area, but poorly marked trail. It’s very easily to get off of the trail, especially when the education signs are 20-50ft off of the main train. I highly recommend using AllTrails to make it through this trial.
Not a bad experience. I saw a young alligator sunning on a log. There is much wildlife including a whole lot of turtles. My only issue is that I wish there would be a better effort to pick the trash up. The water seemed very cluttered with it.
This is a nice change of pace. It's a small little forest within city park. The paths aren't huge, but they're defined well enough. There's a small Hill with multiple paths leading up it to a tiny lookout of sorts. The forest isn't huge, but worth a walk.
Endlessly pretty and cool here... There's a footbridge stretching over the water to the forest, and a butterfly garden of beautiful flowers at the entrance... Down in the water, we saw a whole family of red-eared slider turtles just living their best life, chasing around the fish :D
The trees here are truly stunning and magnificent, oaks covered with Spanish moss, hundreds of years old...
The children's museum of Louisiana is here, there's a lake with swan paddle boats, there's a sculpture garden, bike trails, hiking trails, and loads of other things to do, too.
I'm so glad that this bit of wild has been saved in the middle of the crescent city.
Absolutely worth the little bit of a drive to visit.
