Point Breeze Motel

Very peaceful lovely place to chill right on the water prices reasonable people friendly not pet friendly which sucks

My husband Bo works in New Roads Once a year and always stays at Point Breeze. This place has more of a cabin feel to it in which has been a wonderful fit for him and I. The owners are very pleasant and if there are any problems fixes them as fast as he is able to. They put their guest first and always speaks and smiles. The rooms are very clean. This place is peaceful and you can fish right off of your balcony in which is a wrap around deck. Boat launch right there as well. Ladies this place is ok to stay in and you can cook in the small kitchen the rooms have to offer

If you are looking for luxury, drive on past and find a B&B. But if you are in need of a clean, welcoming place to stay, this is it. It isn't fancy by any means, but the rooms are on the water. ON THE WATER. As in fish from your bed on the water. I am a collector of vintage/retro roadside hotel stays, and this one is at the top of my list in New Roads. You can lie on the bed and watch the sun rise and set through your big lake-facing window. I visited several weeks ago on my spring break and am headed back this weekend with some friends in tow. I loved it that much.

Mr Dugas is the best kind of host. He is around but he doesn't hover. And the room prices are great.

There is no ice machine (that I saw) so be sure to bring a bag of ice. There is a full size fridge/freezer in the kitchenette room, along with a gas range, sink, and microwave. Bring your own utensils and pots and pans, plates, etc. Linens are furnished. Also bring camp chairs if more than two people are staying in a room.

Rooms are a bit like cabins at a state park--there is no pretentious froo froo. That is fine with me... I had fun fishing,, antiquing and I slept great! Pro tip, there is a Daiquiri shop within a kayak's row from Point Breeze. Ask for a Bushwhacker--yummm!

Point Breeze is not a five star resort with day spa etc.. But it IS a five star experience. Sitting on the back balcony, watching herons take flight, seeing the many colors of the water and sky, hearing frogs chirp and ducks call for their friends--its just about heaven.

I love everything about Point Breeze. Lots of memories to be made here.

While Point Breeze may be older it does offer many conveniences like it's own docks, boat launch, and a very picturesque deck sits above it all to enjoy the views. It's staff is also very helpful with the local area needs you may have and keep the place clean.
