Phil's Marina Cafe

Loved the location. We sat at a table on the warf side with a beautiful view.
The gumbo was good but had a very spicy bite. Catfish was excellent. Crab cakes could use less onion. Dessert and coffee was to die for. Lovely atmosphere.

I really enjoyed my experience at Phil's. The setting is gorgeous and perfect for watching the sun set. The food was good, too. I had fish on a bed of spinach with some dressing on top. The fish was cooked perfectly, the dressing was creamy and delicious. The spinach was a little oily, but okay. I had the macaroni and cheese side, which was really bland, but came in a cute little crock topped with melted cheese. I also tried the fried cheese, which tasted home made, and the crab claws, which were sweet and tender. The food isn't perfect, but the service is fabulous. And that setting...

Split the band burger on French bread with Mom. It was yummy! We also shared the fried crab claws. They had such great flavor that we did not use the cocktail or tartar sauce that came with them.

Best fried shrimp anywhere. We were looking for some good fried shrimp on our visit from Michigan. We were not disappointed! Delicious homemade tartar sauce, huge portion and very reasonable prices. Service was amazing too.

Stumbled across the bridge and did a quick search for restaurants near me. Found Phil's and based on reviews figured we should give it a try since it was just around the corner.

It's easy to find, has a good sized parking lot, and seem to have several different dining areas, so lots of seating. The bar along the front probably seats 25 or 30 people, and it was packed full of what looks like locals out having dinner and drinks on a Sunday night.

All the staff that we interacted with were pleasant and upbeat. The place was clean with nothing sticky, and the bathrooms were very nice. There was a lot of good positive décor hanging, and that usually speaks of the general attitude of management.

They must go through quite a bit of oysters because the dumpster Had a significant pile of shells the had somehow escaped disposal.

Ordered gumbo and a soft shelled crab with shrimp. I don't remember the name off the menu, bur it was all better than it sounded.

They had a fun entryway with a cute photo opportunity, and brightly painted walls. Really set the tone for what was inside.
