“A very great experience. Booked a group of 12 for my family. The captain was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Very friendly and patient with children. He let my nephews steer the boat with him it was precious. The baby alligator was also awesome. Makes me want one for my self. He been on many swamp tours with different companies this one by far takes the cake.”

“We did the hotel pick up which I highly recommend if you're staying in the French quarters. This tour was great from the pick up until the drop off. The Captain had great information on the bayou and its history. Definitely try the cajun egg rolls. Saw multiple gators and other wildlife. Well worth the price.”

“My girlfriend and I recently decided to try out casual camping and hiking. We came here and Andrew and Regan were incredibly helpful! Regan helped us find the right size backpack that works for us, and Andrew told us about tents, sleeping bags, and sleeping mats. My girlfriend and I quickly realized that many of the products here are out of our budget, but Regan and Andrew still helped us out and gave us lots of advice. Andrew was especially helpful, and he showed me websites for local trails and camping recipes, and he told me about his own experiences camping and hiking to help me understand what to expect. I did end up buying the book 50 Hikes in Louisiana, per Andrew’s recommendation. We will be going with cheaper options for gear for the time being, but if we stick with hiking and camping we will definitely come back to The Backpacker to purchase better quality gear. My experience here was very pleasant and the employees really want to help customers find the right stuff for their purposes. The employees are experienced and know what they’re talking about, and they’re super nice and helpful and fun to talk to. I left the store feeling motivated and excited for camping!”

“Despite the summer heat, this was such a cool experience! We brought our four kids (ages 7, 9, 14, and 16) and they really enjoyed it- BUT, next time we will leave them at home for a more romantic trip, haha! Robert was wonderful, full of interesting conversation and great with the kids. I recommend this unique treat to anyone.”

“This is a beautiful home with gorgeous high ceilings and a beautiful garden area to relax outside. Close to the French Quarter. Charming bars and restaurants all close by. Perfect place to come home to after a day exploring the city. The kitchen is one you wish you could take home with you. The owners really thought of everything. We enjoyed everything about our stay. Highly recommend!”

“Great tours of the Plantation, it's a step back in time. The beauty of the houses was wonderful to see. But learning the history and getting a closer look at Slavery was enlightening. And learning about the Sugar Cane Industry and the History of New Orleans was very interesting. Strongly recommend”

“Joe, Rebecca and the team at Destinations Travel Advisors organized an amazing honeymoon for us in Cambodia and Vietnam. Everything was planned and well-organized for the entire trip - from flights and lodging to sightseeing and tours - and it went very smoothly. We thought a guide would be helpful throughout the trip since neither of us speak Khmer or Vietnamese, and Joe and his team made it happen. Upon arrival at the airport in Siem Reap, we were greeted by an immigration 'broker' who assisted with our visitor visas, and once that was completed, we were greeted by our guide that would be taking us on our tours and assisting us up until the point that we were in the security line at the airport when departing for Hanoi. Siem Reap was wonderful - the food, the people, and the beautiful temples. The resort we stayed at was very modern and upscale (Shinta Mani). One of the most unique and personalized activities we experienced was visiting a monastery where we received a blessing from a Buddhist monk. Upon arrival in Hanoi, we once again had someone greet us who assisted with our visitor visas which went smoothly, and then met our guide and driver who would be with us for the next several days. We stayed at the Sofitel Metropole - gorgeous hotel - and they had a nice bouquet of roses, box of chocolates, rose petals in the bathtub, and a nice note congratulating us on our marriage. Over the next few days we met our guide in the lobby every morning, and covered a lot of ground. We went on a street food tour with a renowned local chef. One day we toured the most ancient village in Vietnam about 2 hours outside of Hanoi. We rode bikes through the countryside and had a nice home cooked lunch. The most scenic experience was the overnight boat cruise in Halong Bay. Absolutely stunning views from every angle you look. Probably the most personalized tour was our last night in Hanoi. We had dinner with a musician couple who play in the National Symphony. They cooked us a homemade dinner and we chatted. After dinner we enjoyed a private performance (the wife played the piano and her husband played the flute). The next morning, our guide and driver took us to the airport and made sure we were checked in properly for our next adventure in Nha Trang. We had a driver greet us in Nha Trang to take us to the resort. We stayed on the only beach front resort in the city. The view from the room was absolutely stunning (only a few yards from the water). We went scuba diving 2 days in a row with a guide that works in the scuba shop at the resort. I must say this was the most colorful dive I have ever been on - the fish and coral came in every color imaginable, and the water was very clear. The guide set up and broke down/washed off all of our scuba gear after the dive, which was a perk to the already very reasonable cost. To top it off, a homemade lunch was also included. The seafood in Nha Trang was great - we had fresh lobster prepared for us on the street every night. We asked for a trip of a lifetime, and Joe, Rebecca and the team at Destinations Travel Advisors gave us much more than that.”
