We chose Bethany because there are several Bethany families at my husband's church and having that support network is very helpful for an emotional journey such as this. I like Bethany because it looks at all the parties involved in the adoption triangle. We get the national Bethany magazine and recently there was a story about a birth mother and her life and struggles after placing her child with an adopting family. The classes we had to take placed a lot of emphasis on empathizing with the birth parents. Later we saw a video about adult transracial adoptees and their experiences. It is a Christian organization so there is a lot of prayer throughout the process. Lots. Of. Praying. Prayer is woven through and through, as it is needed. 4 stars instead of 5 because the Crofton location is out of the way for us. It requires a car to get there, and getting on highways. I know this is not a big deal to a lot of people but I like trying to be as car free as possible.”
