  Out of nowhere, I began to have daily headaches behind my eyes and forehead. For one year, I made many appointments with my primary care physician, various optometrists, a Johns Hopkins ophthalmologist, an ENT, a neurologist, a rheumatologist and a migraine specialist. I had an MRI done on my brain and a CT done on my sinuses. In the end I was told there was nothing wrong with me and that it must be "in my head" and I was referred to a psychiatrist. I missed time at work and the co-pays were adding up to a hefty amount. I was frustrated with my 24 hour 7 days a week headache, always in the same area. One day I decided to stop by Bernard Shear Opticians in Owings Mills and I was seen by Dr. Melissa Shear, who listened to me, and made a recommendation for me to see Dr. Brett Levinson in Cross Keys. He changed my life. My headaches were caused by severe dry eyes and within a month, Dr. Levinson had me on a regiment to improve the dryness and my headaches were gone, and the headaches have not returned. I see Dr. Levinson quarterly, and have been his patient for a little over two years now. I learned from Dr. Levinson how serious dry eye disease can really be if gone untreated. I urge anyone who is hesitant about the recommended treatments to try the IPL treatment Dr. Levinson performs. I was skeptical, tired of spending money, taking time off of work and being miserable. He was my last hope and I am glad I went to see him and trusted him with my eyes. If anyone wants to reach out to me to ask me questions about the IPL treatment, I authorize Dr. Levinson's office to release my phone number to any patient he has had a consult with to talk to me about my successful IPL treatments.

  Dr. Levinson has been my Ophthalmologist over the last four years. While in his care I have been absolutely impressed by his knowledge, professionalism and level of care. Besides visiting his office for my annual eye exams, Dr. Levinson has treated me for dry eyes (Meibomian Gland Dysfunction). The treatment given for this issue is called IPL for short (Intense Pulsed Light) which has improved the oil glands of my eyelids and has provided great relief.
  
  I also would like to mention recently while on a trip, i needed immediate attention to an eye matter and after calling his office during off hours, the office left a phone number on their answering machine allowing me to contact the Doctor. After I called, Dr. Levinson immediately got in contact with me. I described the issue I was having and he was able to call in a Rx to the closest pharmacy which allowed me to get my eye issue back to normal, sooner rather than later- instead of waiting for Monday office hours.
  In addition, the office staff is very courteous and friendly. - 5 STARS !!

  I have been seeing Dr. Levinson ever since I had a cornea virus back in 2013. He is very comforting and attentive. The staff is attentive and understanding. I highly recommend Dr. Levinson and staff.

  The staff is friendly and very helpful when you call. They are very accommodating and the office is comfortable environment. Dr. Levinson is very attentive and thorough; he not only will address any issues you have, no matter how small, but also shows a passion for his work.
