  I was one of the very first immigration clients of Mr. Smith back in the mid-1990s. I was a postdoc researcher seeking cures and treatments for arthritis and related autoimmune diseases. We filed for a NIW green card, and it was approved. In submitting my application, Mr. Smith helped me focus on the most relevant evidence we could use. He helped write and edit the support letters, and was always accessible to me to answer questions or provide feedback during the process. In the end, my whole family received green cards and we later became US citizens.
  
  I was very impressed by Mr. Smith's abilities and performance. He is highly knowledgeable and skilled at his job. Importantly, and somewhat unusually for a lawyer, he is crystal honest. He will tell you exactly what the strengths and weaknesses of your application are, and what is your chance of success. This is rather different from other immigration lawyers who will give you a promise you want, charge you a lot of money, and then fail to deliver results.
  
  Since my case, Mr. Smith has handled NIW applications for numerous other scientists, with steady success. I have full confidence in him as an immigration lawyer. When selecting an immigration lawyer, it is important that be able to collaborate and plan the case together while paying reasonable fees. I was satisfied on all these fronts when working with Mr. Smith.

  We hired Peter G. Smith to file for a marriage based green card. We met with him three times to prepare our case and everything went as he said it would. We got our green card one week after our marital interview. He took all the stress out of the process, and this enabled me to focus on school and other responsibilities.   Excellent service. Very approachable and helpful. Would surely recommend. I shopped around before I approached him. His fees are competitive. Went to him for switching my wife's status from H1B visa to green card. The process went smoothly. My wife had her green-card in less then 3 months from the time of the application.

  I am a scientist with PhD, who does advanced medical research. When I was working for the University of Maryland, I contacted Peter Smith to see if you could help me get an employment based green card. He recommended that I apply for a National Interest Waiver Green Card, and I received it. I have since gone on to become an American citizen.
  What I liked best about working with Peter was how accessible and responsive he was. We exchanged emails and phone calls at all times of the day during all days of the week to prepare my case. He helped make sure my evidence was well prepared, and he helped my witnesses write effective, fact-based, persuasive letters in my case. He was also very honest and easy to worth with. I never felt intimidated or afraid to call him with any question or problem. At all times he was helpful and positive.
  Looking back on the whole stressful experience of deciding how to pick a lawyer and apply for a green card, what I truly like about Mr. Smith was that he works alone without a "staff" of paralegals, secretaries or associates. A good, 1-to-1 relationship was formed and helped us truly collaborate on presenting a strong case. I would recommend him to other researchers or applicants for employment based green cards.
