Glaucoma Specialists: Alan L. Robin, M.D.

Suffice it to say that Baltimore ans are fortunate to have this practice available to thrm. Both Dr Robin and Smith are tops in my book and I shopped around. When you reach a certain age your doctors are as important a relationship as nearly anyother lol. Always available and they "get" what they do. Preserve sight!!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Robins for many years. I consider myself to be on the "young" side to have glaucoma and knowing that I, hopefully, have many years ahead of me, it is reassuring to have Drs. Robin & Smith on my side. I have a background in ophthalmology and when I realized that I had glaucoma, there was no question in my mind whom I would want taking care of my eyes and helping me maintain my vision. Dr. Robin has been nothing but professional and honest with me. I have undergone two uncomplicated surgeries by him and both times have just been amazed at the uneventful course of my post-op.

It has truly been an honor and a privilege to be a patient of Dr. Robin's and I have the utmost respect for him. He has a wonderful "chair side" manner; he takes the time to explain everything and has never tried to persuade me one way or the other about treatment options. I have found him to be very honest and upfront with me. If asked, I would never hesitate to recommend Dr. Robin for the treatment of glaucoma.

He is very much up to speed on the latest medical developments and also is very down to earth and kind. His staff have been very patient with the bills and have helped me navigate the insurance.

I have had nothing but positive experiences with Dr. Robin and his staff. Because Dr. Robin is a specialist, he takes extra time and care to discuss your situation with you and makes sure that you understand everything up front, using layman's terms and not confusing medical jargon. I felt that he took his time with me and made sure that all of my questions were answered. While I was with Dr. Robin, he made me feel important and that he was willing to talk to me as long as was needed to make me feel comfortable, which I did. I worked carefully with his surgical coordinator to arrange and schedule my surgery. I was also extremely surprised that he called me the night of my surgery to find out how I was doing and specifically requested that I call him if anything changed. That is just part of his compassion and care that he demonstrates with each and every patient. Impeccable bedside manner is so hard to find these days, and is definitely something that is innate to a person, and cannot be taught in medical school. It is very clear that Dr. Robin has this extremely rare and valuable quality, and I am so lucky to have found him. I am glad that he is taking care of my eyesight and look forward to working with him in the future. I know I am in the best hands possible, and I would not hesitate one second to recommend to anyone who asked.
